new consoles are getting delayed

so by now you have probably known about the ram shortage and how it is effecting anything that needs ram, but PlayStation and Xbox just announced that they will be delaying their new console releases until the ram shortage is over which is estimated to last from 2 to 5 years depending on the companies making the ram.

so why are the new consoles getting delayed? well ram is the short answer but there is also just a lot of shortages on computer parts mostly because of ai data centers but also because of economy because it is expensive to produce the chips that go into not just ram but also SSDs and other parts too.

so if these new consoles get released soon they would be about $1750 so Sony and Microsoft have decided that instead of making their new consoles cost a fortune they would rather delay the release dates of the new consoles so that they can be cheaper.

also ai data centers have been a major focus of Microsoft so Microsoft is more focused on other stuff instead especially because Microsoft is publishing their Xbox exclusives on PlayStation and pc so there is not a big reason to buy an Xbox because you can buy a pc or a PlayStation 5.

however the Xbox isn’t that bad, it just doesn’t have that many exclusives to offer which is the main selling point of a console in the first place so the Xbox good if you only play Xbox games but for most gamers they want to play all their games in one place.

for PlayStation however they just don’t want to release the PlayStation 6 at a higher price point. so a lot of consoles are getting delayed mostly because of the ram shortage.
